Pinterest weddings are beautiful. I use Pinterest daily to help my clients truly envision a wedding design that feels unique to them. These weddings are awe-inspiring, show-stopping and make you go… wow. You may find yourself deep in this blackhole wondering how in the world you’re going to design a Pinterest worthy wedding. Well, here are three elements most of these weddings showcase that you can easily implement into your own wedding day.
The number one thing these weddings that get featured in magazines and are the first to pop up in an internet search is personalization. These couples have infused their design with elements that cannot be mistaken for coming from a different wedding. Think about cocktail napkins with the couple’s pet on them or a seating chart that has books as place markers. This type of personalization will make your wedding feel anything but cookie-cutter. The picture below is from one of my client’s who displayed her Fiance’s saxophone with beautiful flowers to honor his love of music in their reception!
If I’ve said it once, I have said it a million times – florals make or break your wedding design. However, unique floral installs are what makes your wedding an unforgettable day. Having florals hand from the ceiling, creating a structure-less arbor for the ceremony or even including dried florals into your bar drinks are all ways that florals can be more than just table top decor. One of my clients had her florist create a “floral tattoo” on her head. Come on – how freaking epic is that? And yes, this wedding did get featured in Rock N’ Roll bride!
Yes, your cake should be pretty and your table-top decor should be flawless. But so should your details. The shoes, the jewelry, the invitation suite, the stationary on the table – all of that needs to be cohesive in order to create that Pinterest-worthy design. If you pay attention to those details and make sure they all tell the same story – you will find your wedding design being one neither you nor your guests will ever forget.
All of these elements are small but crucial to creating a unique wedding day – because that’s all a “Pinterest Worthy Wedding” is. Those weddings that you see over and over again are simply wedding days that were unique to the couple where they did things people have never seen before.
Happy Planning – with love always, Kirsten xo
